Do you guys notice how many fairy tales are being remade for the next couple of years? So far we have seen Little Red Riding Hood, Tangled, Beastly, and Shrek. Is this open season or is there some reason why all of a sudden fairy tales are being remade. Here are a list of some other films in production:
Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunter
Brothers Grimm tale, adult-themed fairy tale turn film looks at the lives of Hansel & Gretel 15 years after their run-in with the witch. The movie is expected to come out in 2012. The three main characters include:
Jeremy Renner (Hansel), well known for acting in The Town, S.W.A.T. and The Hurt Locker, he will also star in the upcoming Bourne Series a twist off from the original Bourne starring Matt Damon.
Gemma Arterton (Gretel), well known for parts in Clash of the Titans, Quantum of Solace, and Prince of Persia.
Famke Janssen (Muriel), well known for parts as Jean in X-Men, Golden Eye and Taken.
Another movie that will be remade is The Brothers Grimm: Snow White
A dark twist on the classic fairy tale, in which Snow White and the seven dwarfs look to reclaim their destroyed kingdom. As you can from this you know it will be Brother Grimm because they always twisted the original story.
The movie stars
Julia Roberts who we all know to play the Witch and Lily Collins who played the girl in the Blind Side as Snow White.
